A proper MOT — not a tick-box exercise.

Every MOT at Grange Moor Garage is carried out by a fully qualified DVSA-licensed tester, using calibrated brake testers, emissions analysers and headlamp alignment equipment. We test the vehicle to the latest DVSA standards — nothing more, nothing less.

Because we are a full-service workshop, anything that needs attention can be repaired on the same day, with your approval. There is no surprise upselling, no inflated quotes, and no pressure — just a clear explanation of what your vehicle needs and what it doesn’t.

Why Grange Moor

What happens if my vehicle fails its MOT?

We'll talk you through exactly what failed and why, give you a clear written quote, and — with your approval — carry out the repairs the same day where possible. Any work completed by us within 10 working days qualifies for a free partial retest.

How early can I book my MOT?

You can have your MOT done up to one calendar month (minus a day) before its expiry date without losing any of the remaining validity. We recommend booking 2–3 weeks ahead.

Do you test motorhomes and larger vehicles?

Yes. Our purpose-built workshop has a 6.1m Class 7 ramp rated to 6 tonnes, so we comfortably accommodate motorhomes, campervans and commercial vans up to 5 tonnes — something most local garages simply can't offer.

Will you try to sell me work I don't need?

No. We tell you what's needed for the MOT, what's advisory, and what can wait. Our reputation across Grange Moor, Huddersfield and Dewsbury has been built on being straight with people.
